Creative Kids

The Creative World Kid's Program is shaping up to be a fun experience. We aren't here to baby-sit or just entertain. Instead, we plan to create a space for kids to explore creativity and justice, creation and worship (and of course there will be plenty of time to just play and have fun too!).

Kids ages 5 through 12 will engage in making art, experiencing creation and partnering in justice.  The children's program this year will be led by Urban Promise who are experienced in running after school and summer camps for kids all over North America.  They are putting together a schedule that incorporates some of the justice themes that reflect the ethos of the festival.

Christian environmentalists, A Rocha Canada, will also be running a children's session - using their interactive child-focussed lesson on creation care.

Finally, another session will be led by Isadore Charters and his helpers.  Isadore is a First Nation elder who specializes in teaching children and adults about First Nations history and culture.  He will be bringing his Healing Pole, for the children to participate in some traditional carving.

The childrens' programming will be available Saturday morning (10am-12) during the main stage session, part of the afternoon during workshops (1-3pm), Saturday evening (a supervised movie for older kids 7-9pm), Sunday morning (10am-12) and Sunday afternoon during the main stage session (2:30-4:30pm).

It is important that parents/guardians of children  at the festival sign their kids in and out for each children's session.
1. For each of the sessions please walk with your child to the session.
2. There will be a sign in sheet where you will write down your child's name and age, any important allergies that we need to be aware of, your name, your cell # and the session or location of where you will be at the festival while your child is in their session.
3. When the session is over, please come back to pick up your child. You will need to sign them out.

We do not offer a nursery for kids up to 5 years of age. However, outdoor space is plentiful (with parent supervision), so your youngest ones will have the opportunity to make friends and share in learning and playing together.

On behalf of the whole Kids Team, we can't wait to meet you!
